Script Pipeline Finalists Attached to Direct Universal’s “Mama” Sequel

Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, finalists of the 2011 Script Pipeline Screenwriting Competition (Shed), are tabbed to direct the sequel to Universal’s horror Mama.

The writer/director duo gained a considerable amount of attention after their breakout hit film Starry Eyes premiered at SXSW, receiving favorable reviews from Entertainment Weekly,, Variety, and critics nationwide. The film stars Alex Essoe as an actress whose quest for fame in Hollywood leads down a deadly path. In April 2015, Starry Eyes continued a torrid run and was the number one most-watched film on Netflix streaming for several days. View the trailer on iTunes.

Along with the Mama sequel, Dennis and Kevin are directing Summit Entertainment’s Exorcism Diaries.

They’re represented by manager Adam Goldworm at Aperture Entertainment and WME.
