Here are some of the most notable script sales from May 2022.
- Warner Bros. and The Safran Company are producing The Executioner, written by Ryan Firpo and Kaz Firpo. Jason Momoa is attached to star.
- Marc Platt Productions will produce Wild Four O’Clocks from writer/director Peter Craig. Michelle Pfeiffer will star.
- Symbolic Exchange and Bankside Films are moving forward with writer/director Lance Edmands’s psychological thriller Brightwater. Scoot McNair, Jack Reynor, and Emily Browning will star.
- Brookstreet Pictures and Sugar23 will produce Knox Goes Away, a noir thriller written by Gregory Poirier. Michael Keaton will direct and star.
- Game1 has picked up Jim Valvano from writer Jim Strouse. Based on the true story, the film will star Ray Romano, who will also produce.
- Untitled Entertainment, Independent Entertainment, and Hero Squared will produce writer/director Edward Anderson’s sci-fi/thriller Apteros. Kaya Scodelario, Lance Reddick and Ben Hardy will star.
- Southpaw Entertainment is moving forward with The Fabulous Four, a comedy film written by Jenna Milly, Ann Marie Allison, and Jocelyn Moorhouse. Moorhouse will also direct, and Susan Sarandon, Bette Midler, and Megan Mullally are attached to star.
- LuckyChap Entertainment (Margot Robbie) will produce writer/director Emerald Fennell’s next film, Saltburn. Rosamund Pike, Jacob Elordi, and Barry Keoghan are attached to star.
- Grey Matter Productions and Wychwood Media are moving forward with Pain Hustlers, a crime dramedy written by Wells Tower. Emily Blunt will star, and David Yates will direct.
- Nearly 40(!) years after the original, we’re finally getting a This Is Spinal Tap sequel!! The original cast—Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer, and Rob Reiner—will all reprise their roles, and Reiner will also return to direct.
- Lionsgate and Temple Hill Productions are teaming up for the supernatural thriller Bagman, written by John Hulme. Colm McCarthy will direct, and Sam Claflin will star.
- StudioCanal, Blueprint Pictures, and South of the River Pictures are moving forward with the dramedy Wicked Little Letters, written by Jonny Sweet and based on a true story. Thea Sharrock will direct, and The Lost Daughter costars Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley will star.
- A24 and Plan B Entertainment are making writer/director David Michôd’s next film, Wizards!, based on a story by Joel Edgerton and Michôd. Pete Davidson, Naomi Scott, and Sean Harris will star.
