About

Script Pipeline discovers and develops writers for film and television, connecting them to producers, agents, and managers. Since 1999, several produced films and over $8 million in screenplay and TV pilot spec sales are credited to Script Pipeline’s singular, intensive process of long-term writer-to-industry facilitation.

Some major success stories over the years …

In a moment that turned a new spotlight on specs from unproduced writers, Screenwriting Contest winner Evan Daugherty sold Snow White and the Huntsman to Universal for $3 million, one of the biggest spec sales of all time. He later wrote Divergent and Ninja Turtles, amongst other features for studios. His contest-winning script Killing Season was produced and starred Robert De Niro.

Screenwriting Contest winner Tripper Clancy found management with a Script Pipeline partner in 2010, and over the course of a decade, he sold a handful of specs and pitches, was hired to write multiple studio projects, and his action-comedy Stuber, starring Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani, sold to Fox for the mid-six figures. Tripper was co-created the Roku series Die Hart.

Years later, another historic spec sale followed from an unproduced writer: Screenwriting finalist Crosby Selander sold his script Bring Me Back to Legendary for seven figures as part of a bidding war. Crosby signed with Kaplan/Perrone after Pipeline circulation.

And Helen Gaughran’s Visitation, winner of the Script Pipeline Screenwriting Competition and First Look Project, went into production in 2023 and releases in 2024, starring Olivia Cooke (House of the DragonSound of Metal) and Isla Johnston (The Queen’s Gambit).

Other recent Script Pipeline introductions have resulted in writers landing management and agency rep at UTA, Alibi Management, Kaplan/Perrone, Bellevue, and other top companies. Several finalists and winners have made numerous Black Lists, including Cauliflower by Daniel Jackson (2021) and Pure by Catherine Schetina (2022), both snagging the #1 spot.

Script Pipeline searches for new material and develops writers on a daily basis. Over 20,000 screenplays, pilots, and original pitches are reviewed on average annually.

From Writers & Industry ...

“I was about to give up on this script and stick it in a drawer ... then I placed as a finalist in Script Pipeline, and that all changed. More has happened for my career in the past month after placing as a finalist than in all the months preceding it.”

Crosby Selander (Bring Me Back - sold to Legendary)Screenwriting Finalist

“Proud to have so many Bellevue clients on the Black List, many of which we found through Script Pipeline. The Pipeline team continues to recognize some of the strongest writers out there and have become one of our go-to sources for finding incredible new material and clients.”

John ZaozirnyManager/Producer, Bellevue Productions

“Script Pipeline has done more for our careers than anyone else in the industry. They've been incredible partners for the long haul—championing, not just our winning screenplay, but our subsequent projects as well. They've dramatically improved our work with their notes and guidance and connected us with our dream management team.”

Jamie Napoli & Joshua Paul JohnsonScreenwriting Contest Winners

“Script Pipeline is the only competition that truly does ‘work for you’ after you place. They helped shape a horror feature of mine, then put it into the hands of well-known producers and agents. I now have a script in development and my first job writing a feature with an award-winning director!”

Lauren KentPitch Contest Runner-up

“I'm super grateful to the Script Pipeline team for shining a light on my screenplay and making those crucial early introductions to help get the project out there.”

“I cannot overstate the impact that Script Pipeline has had on my writing career. Winning the contest directly led to new representation, which in turn led to working with studios like 20th Century Fox.”
