Here are some of the most notable script sales from December 2020.
– Pedro Almodovar is set to write and direct his next feature Parallel Mothers. Penelope Cruz will star, and Almodovar will produce with his brother, Agustin, under their production company El Deseo S.A.
– Universal Pictures, Hoorae (Issa Rae’s production company), and La La Land Productions will produce Angelica Nwandu’s horror comedy feature Juju. Thembi Banks will direct.
– Patty Jenkins will script and direct the third entry in her Wonder Woman franchise for Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Entertainment, and Atlas Entertainment.
– MGM and Plan B Entertainment (Brad Pitt) have picked up Lee Isaac Chung’s untitled romantic drama. Chung will also direct.
– Keith Lucas, Kenny Lucas, and Alex Rubens will script the Revenge of the Nerds remake for Twentieth Century Studios and Fuzzy Door Productions (Seth MacFarlane). The Lucas Brothers will also star. The original movie was written by Steve Zacharias and Jeff Buhai.
– TriStar Pictures and Jax Media have acquired Michelle Harper’s untitled pregnancy comedy. The script was on the 2020 Black List.
– Black Label Media has acquired the psychological thriller Reptile, written by Grant Singer and Benjamin Brewer. Benicio Del Toro will star and produce, and Singer will also direct.
– David Koepp will provide the script for The Green Hornet and Katie for Universal Pictures and Amasia Entertainment. George W. Trendle first created the character in 1938.
– MGM, Radio Silence, Project X Entertainment, and Vinson Films have acquired Reunion, a teen horror feature written by Guy Busick and based on a story by Busick and R. Christopher Murph. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Chad Villella will produce and direct.
– Cat Vasko will script Plastic Woman for Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment, to be based on the DC Comics character Plastic Man, created in 1941 by Jack Cole.
– Dark Hell, 6th & Idaho, and Picture Films have picked up Devon Grave’s thriller spec Switchboard.
– Steelyard Pictures has acquired Kevin Bachar’s horror script The Inhabitant. Dermot Mulroney and Leslie Bibb will star, and Jerren Lauder will direct.
