The action-comedy Stuber, written by Script Pipeline Screenwriting Contest winner Tripper Clancy, stars Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick, Silicon Valley), Betty Gilpin (Glow), and Iko Uwais (The Raid). Jonathan Goldstein (Horrible Bosses) and John Francis Daley (Bones) produced. The film released in July 2019 and was screened at the 2019 SXSW festival.
20th Century Fox picked up the script, based on a pitch developed by Tripper and his manager.
Tripper won for Script Pipeline Screenwriting, and soon after, Script Pipeline execs linked him with management, paving the way for projects set up at Sony, Fox, Hasbro, Paramount, and other studios. He’s adapting the acclaimed novel The Art of Fielding for Mandalay and a film for Amazon, High Five.
