Any genre. Any format. Anyone can submit.
Script Pipeline has helped writers sell $4 million in scripts to studios over the last 10 years--now's your chance to get your concept into development.
The Great Movie Idea Contest connects you with top film producers looking for new concepts. The old adage, "there are no rules in Hollywood" applies here: all subject matter and genres accepted.
Pitches can be anywhere from a single, one-sentence logline, to a full treatment, to a brief video pitch. Ideas may be wholly original, based on a public domain
story, or adapted from a novel. Both screenwriters and non-screenwriters are welcome to submit.
One grand prize winner and four runners-up will be announced in August, 2012. All finalists receive development assistance from Script Pipeline executives, and the winner gets personal, 1-on-1 meetings with top production companies.

Featured by Script Magazine in 2011 as one of the top coverage services, the Workshop assists both feature screenplay and TV writers looking to get their material ready for circulation.
Writers with a "Consider" or "Recommend" grade on their script receive additional assistance from Script Pipeline's development team, as well as introductions to specific Pipeline partners, including producers and managers looking for new writers.
Since 2000, this dedicated process of writer-to-industry facilitation has resulted in scores of option agreements, sold scripts, and screenwriters finding representation and paid assignments.
Recent success stories include Brian Watanabe, who's action/comedy script was produced starring Zach Galifianakis, and Micah Barnett, who sold his spec to WB for six-figures in 2010. A number of other writers currently have their Recommend or Consider screenplays in the development or pre-production stages.

Everyone seemed to be looking to the stars in May, so sci-fi sales soared, including a sequel to Blade Runner (with the imaginative title Blade Runner 2), Beyond Apollo about a failed mission to Venus, and Wool, set in a future where the air is contaminated, to be produced by the brothers Ridley and Tony Scott. Universal picked up the mystery thriller, The Disciple Project, and Disney hopes to score big with an adaptation of the beloved children's book Peter and the Starcatchers.
But never fear, if science fiction isn't your favorite box office fare, a bio-pic on the life of James Bond creator Ian Flemming is also in the works, as is a fantasy comedy entitled The Canterville Ghost to be voiced by House's Hugh Laurie and fellow Brit Stephen Fry.
Other script sales include:
- An update of the 1970's TV series, The Night Stalker.
- A bio pic on the life of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs written by Aaron Sorkin.
- A sequel to Planet of the Apes for 20th Century Fox.
- Dear Satan, a comedy about a girl who misspells Santa's name, to be produced by the Farrelly brothers.
