Jessica James is born-and-raised in Los Angeles whose career has taken her from the front of the camera to the producer’s chair and ultimately to the writer’s desk. She began acting at a young age, earning Best Actress at the HollyShorts Film Festival, and later produced Taste, a short that won Best Of at the Wisconsin Film Festival and was an official selection at the Fantasia Film Festival. She has produced multiple features and shorts, with work screening at festivals including SXSW and Fantasia.
After years of firsthand experience in the industry, including working closely with high-profile talent as a yoga instructor to the Hollywood elite, Jessica shifted her focus to screenwriting, completing the UCLA Extension Feature Film Program. Her insight into the emotional cost of visibility, ambition, and self-worth in a youth- and fame-obsessed culture gives her a rare perspective rooted in experience and empathy.
Jessica gravitates toward stories that challenge our perception of reality and hint at the unseen layers, emotional, psychological, and metaphysical, that shape human experience. Her genre focus spans elevated horror, grounded fantasy, and character-driven thrillers, often blending cinematic spectacle with intimate human stakes.
