Manivone Nonthaveth is based in Brooklyn, New York and a proud member of the Writer’s Guild of America East. Her multidisciplinary visual arts background of over twenty years led her to discover a passion for screenwriting and filmmaking. In 2023, she developed an original tv pilot in partnership with Universal Content Productions/NBCUniversal through a storytelling incubator, The Thousand Miles Project, created under showrunner, Soo Hugh (PACHINKO). Manivone’s experience as a multi-faceted visual artist is analogous to her aspirations to be a multi-hyphenate creator in film and television. She directed two of the three short films she wrote and produced that have screened in festivals. Her fine arts degree in traditional film photography is the foundation that brought her to value process, build a dynamic art career, and apply visual and collaborative skills into her work as a storyteller. As a child of refugees from Laos, Manivone’s voice speaks to marginalized groups, touching on topics of belief, identity, class and internal power.
