Maren Hill is a writer-director based in Los Angeles who thought she wanted to be an actor until she made her first short film and realized - oops - she liked being in charge. She didn’t go to college because she saw the price tag and thought, “No.” Instead she moved out west as a teenager not knowing a soul and, big thanks to the internet, has been piecing together her own film education ever since. Maren is currently in development for her debut feature film, POSTPONED, which was most recently selected for the Black List Projects Lab. She often draws from personal experience to craft chaotic, character-driven stories that are as buoyant and darkly funny as they are poignant and uncomfortable. Her goal is to encourage grace and healing through visibility and connection, highlighting the overlooked complexities and fundamental courage of everyday people making the best they can out of what they have.
