Rebecca came from Indigenous great-grandmothers who survived residential school, and Italians who can make a feast out of anything. She was raised by a liberal social worker mom in a blue-collar Northern Canadian town. She spent years working for non-profits, including learning and travelling with UNICEF Canada. She married a professional athlete and became part of a high-pressure life full of camaraderie and charisma. As a result, Rebecca writes authentically about fragmented and found families. Her stories are often relationship-driven mysteries and crime dramas. She writes to understand trauma but believes in the healing power of keeping a sense of humour.
Rebecca has an MFA in Writing for Film from the Academy of Art University. She has placed in Nicholl, Austin and Cinestory among others. She has read coverage for investors and high-level contests. Rebecca lives in Vancouver, BC with her husband and two daughters, where she continues her obsession with exploring the moody Pacific Northwest.
