Richard Breakspear is a London-born screenwriter based in Los Angeles. A lifelong storyteller, he first found his creative voice through music, spending much of his twenties writing songs and performing around the world.
After relocating to Los Angeles, Richard built a successful career as a film and television composer, creating scores for projects with Marvel, Netflix, Paramount, Amazon, Blumhouse, and Warner Bros. His years working in film, combined with his time immersed in Los Angeles' underground music scene, continue to shape his distinctive voice as a writer.
His screenplay My Beautiful Bones draws on that experience to explore trauma, resilience, and the DIY punk community with honesty and authenticity.
When he's not writing, Richard is usually on a road trip, discovering somewhere new, or fostering rescue dogs.
