Florida-born and sunburnt, Stephen grew up in a small world of orange groves and back roads, raised by a schoolteacher and a truck driver who taught him the stubborn belief that anything is possible with enough integrity and elbow grease. Where other kids had bins of toys, he had two Batmans, a stack of hand-me-down comics, and an imagination big enough to turn the backseat of a Chevy Blazer into universes.
That same blue-collar grit fuels his work today. A finalist at the Austin Film Festival, a Stowe Story Labs alum, and an active member of Harvardwood, his screenplays blend genres across action, fantasy, and horror. But his characters all fight for the same thing, getting unstuck. Dark Magic Kingdom drops a grieving daughter into a haunted amusement park where nostalgia can kill. Dive Bar serves romance with teeth as a townie falls for a were-shark and learns that leaving might be the only way to save herself. Shane Black’s A Christmas Carol sends a disgraced screenwriter through a Christmas Eve reckoning, forcing him to face the ghosts of the man he used to be, the man he is, and the man he might become.
He writes because the world can be heavy, and joy feels like rebellion. Now based in Boston, he works as an award-winning video editor and writes by night, chasing the same thing in both, honesty through craft.
